Mash-up of some tracks from the forthcoming new Woob album Adaption, more info in this post
Sometime around December 2013 I was having a conversation with a friend about how surprised I was by the relatively high number of Ultrascope CD sales given the niche that is Woob and indeed the now niche that are CD’s and that it was a shame there were not enough to make a living from enabling me to focus on Woob music exclusively. He comically suggested that all I needed was one big Xmas Hit – along the lines of Mariah Carey, Slade or Wham!. I jokingly replied that maybe a penguin chorus would be more appropriate! However the next day that conversation jogged my memory, reminding me of a choral album concept I previously had.
The album already had a rough (now abandoned) track that featured (in part) on the mix I did for French FM Radio show SolenoMix with it’s title – Light and Levitation inspired by the photograph above. So I decided to revive the idea, it was too late for that year…I planned on 2014.
Flash Forward to December last year and I had almost finished the second track when disaster struck – I won’t go into details on that now but the idea was that every December / early January a piece or two of ambient choral music would be released under the banner Light and Levitation and after the holidays would be removed until the following year when another piece would be added to the collection until, however many years down the line, a full album would be complete and made available – potentially up to a decade from now.
Technolust is a Virtual Reality game for Oculus Rift currently in development by Blair Renaud and Chris Abell of ‘Iris’ . Along with a handful of other VR games Technolust is regenerating interest in gaming for generations of jaded gamers bored with the constant recycle of military and historical shooters. The game doubled its kickstarter goal back in May and is currently in Beta available to all backers and those who pre-order.
On firing up the game you are transported into a detailed Bladerunner-esque world, which you are free to explore at your own pace. The finished game will also include a Mars colony, wastelands and other area’s and feature’s many worlds within worlds. There’s also a videogame arcade where you can interact with some of the machines and this is where you will find the Tokyo Run cabinet. Shown above being played by a random youtuber you get a rough idea of how that might feel …and what better mind-bending way to view the film!
Clips from Tokyo Run also crop up within the main game dotted around on monitors and billboards as seen below. You can also play the above video from the beginning to see more. (currently it start’s at the arcade)
For those new to Tokyo Run there’s more info here plus non-vr embed below.

Lost 1194 Is a collection of previously unreleased recordings from the Woob debut album recording sessions at Square Center Studios. Digitally Re-mastered keeping the integrity of the original sound intact and formed from the alternate live mixes (Wuub had 6!) this collection combines to form an alternative take on 1194.
The roots of most of these recordings can be found in the original Woob six part cassette series. However there are tracks from that series that were not part of the original debut and some of these will also appear as part of this new collection. This launch Event Post will reveal various editions and how these will be included.
The Lost Prologue below gives you an ambient taster of the album to be released Tonight!
The amazing artwork is by French concept artist and illustrator Florian de Gesincourt the widescreen version will feature on the CD.
