Woob – Tokyo Run now showing in Virtual Reality Wraparound Theatre via Oculus Rift Game Technolust

Technolust is a Virtual Reality game for Oculus Rift currently in development by Blair Renaud and Chris Abell of ‘Iris’ . Along with a handful of other VR games Technolust is regenerating interest in gaming for generations of jaded gamers bored with the constant recycle of military and historical shooters. The game doubled its kickstarter goal back in May and is currently in Beta available to all backers and those who pre-order.

On firing up the game you are transported into a detailed Bladerunner-esque world, which you are free to explore at your own pace. The finished game will also include a Mars colony, wastelands and other area’s and feature’s many worlds within worlds. There’s also a videogame arcade where you can interact with some of the machines and this is where you will find the Tokyo Run cabinet. Shown above being played by a random youtuber you get a rough idea of how that might feel …and what better mind-bending way to view the film!

Clips from Tokyo Run also crop up within the main game dotted around on monitors and billboards as seen below. You can also play the above video from the beginning to see more. (currently it start’s at the arcade)

Regular visitors will know Samuel from his connection with Woob / Paradigm Flux and the Inter / States time-lapse video. Further collaborations and Flux inbound  but in the meantime feast your eyes in HD on the above

KanZeOn the Movie – Interview with Creators

Tim Grabham (Iloobia) and Neil Cantwell (Dissolving Path) have been working hard over the past few years creating a full length documentary or rather an exploration in Sound – throughout parts of Southern Japan. With a Hip hop Priest and a plethora of spiritual encounters the film has been well received at the various screenings it has already had around the world. With an album recently released  along side, I spoke to Tim and Neil about the background of the film and the idea behind the album Kanzeon Reindications.

Near Silence – Artists Support for Japan

Microscopics have gathered together a group of artists including myself to create a free compilation album of chilled electronica for anyone who donates to the Red Cross Japan appeal. Heres some more about the ‘Near Silence’ album from the Microscopics blog –

A supercooled album fractured with exclusives, classics and the new.
Richard Barbieri has exclusively re-recorded his classic Japan track ‘The Experience of Swimming’; Charles Webster has donated an exclusive mix from his brand new January Tuesday project, which was only recorded last week; and Eno colloborator Roedelius, one of the electronic pioneers alongside Kraftwerk, has donated his classic ‘Wenn der Südwind Weht’; plus an unreleased High Skies track and new material from Woob and Anne Garner.”

More details and links below, share them and help spread the word.
