I was searching the Season 9 cassette archives for some old Woob stuff when I happened upon this Emit Gas 0095 preview cassette. Produced in very Limited numbers there was one for every Emit release and they were used as advance promotional copies. I used to own a Woob one but couldn’t find it – probably gave it away! Woob – Repurpose / 2nd Edition CD Details
UPDATED
Like the first edition this is a hand printed, recycled gatefold card case with professionally printed and duplicated CDr plus an 8 page colour booklet. Although this version isn’t individually numbered, because of the nature of the case printing, each copy is unique.
Quantities again will be limited and there will be no third edition or repressing this year. If you would like to help secure a copy by receiving an advance notice to the exact time and date of release then please contact me through woob.info . The CD will not officially go on sale untill after this time.
Due to the same manufacturing issues as the first edition delivery is expected 3rd week in July end of July.

Woob – Repurpose release details.
UPDATE…..upload is taking forever… over 4 hours and only halfway there I’ll create a new post when its done.
……………….27.5.10 (after 4pm GMT 8am Pacific)
That’s Thursday. So not long to wait.
The Album plus digital booklet will be available on download at Woobsound/Bandcamp and later on iTunes.
As you can see there is also a CD version of the album. This is a hand printed recycled gatefold card case with professionally printed and duplicated CDr plus an 8 page colour booklet.
A very special individually numbered first edition will include a double-sided A3 poster and will be limited to just 25 copies.
Due to circumstances outside of my control all the bits necessary to produce the CD will not be ready until mid July (the images you see are the prototype) Rather than postpone the digital release I thought it best to release that now. For those who want the CD but don’t want to wait, every copy of the CD comes with a digital download – so if you buy the CD now on Thusrsday from Woobsound you can listen straight away whilst spending the time waiting for the CD trying to guess which number you will get.
Woob – Repurpose.
A new Woob compilation – Repurpose, will be available towards the end of May on download and a very limited run CD. The spiritual successor to Woob 1194 this album takes a couple of tracks from Woob 4495 and various Em:t compilations that Woob appeared on. throws in a couple of new lengthy excursions and blends it all together into a new listening experience.
Originally announced in the March Woob update for release around now, the album has since ditched a couple of tracks in favour of more new material.
Check back here for the Trailer on May 1st.

Mat Jarvis – Gas/High Skies Interview
Mat Jarvis is currently celebrating 15 years since the first release of his seminal album ‘Gas 0095’. In February of this year he released a new E.P, Sounds of Earth under the name ‘High Skies’. I recently got a chance to ask him a few questions about it:
S9: Tell me a bit about the recording process.
MJ: Recording and mixing was done pretty much all in the box (inside the computer), I don’t use many softsynths at the moment, although sometimes I will sample an analog synth or noise and put it in a softsampler. I have a few external effects and old delays and phasers, so some sounds go through four or five generations being sampled and resampled through this old gear to take the edges off, and sometimes become unrecognisable until I finally get the sound I’m after, which was a lot of processing for the percussive bass sound on the track ‘Sounds of Earth’.
