The album comes courtesy of Create Digital Music and there is some super slick production on show here – incorporating all manner of futuristic, robotic wobbly produce. [Read more…]

The mix entitled Spaced Volume 1 can be streamed or downloaded over at Mixcrate and includes music from Tangerine Dream, Bruno Sanfilippo, Boy Is Fiction, Humate, Michael Stearns, Jonn Serrie, Odessi, Mystical Sun and yes there is even a Woob track in there somewhere.
Design a Woob logo and win big.
UPDATE 13.12.11
Competition over details to follow.
Woob needs a logo! For too long Woob has been using a temporary Logo (see above/below). Personally I feel too close to the music to come up with something so I am putting it out there in the hope that someone will view it from a different perspective and create something amazing.
However unlike those faceless mega corporations who get the desperate (but reluctantly willing) designers of the world (including myself) to do something for nothing (when they could easily afford to pay them), here at Woob HQ although we have no money whatsoever we don’t want anyone to do something for completely nothing. So every (serious) design entry will receive a digital copy of a Woob album of choice including the forthcoming Paradigm Flux LP. However the ‘chosen one’, the ‘winner’, the design that gets used, will receive a super rare limited edition (one of only 2 in the world in fact) signed copy of ‘Repurpose‘ on CD. This is a priceless item and should be heavily insured by whoever receives it.
Not as rare as the one you could win
So what do you have to do?
Design a logo that includes the word Woob. It needs to be able to work as one colour but feel free to create a full colour or monochrome version as well.
The final design will need to be either vector or very high-resolution.
By entering a logo you automatically agree to give up the worldwide exclusive rights for Woob to use the logo for Woob music and all related merchandise including but not limited to : CDs, clothing, apps, posters etc. You still will be able to use it to promote your own work though obviously.
The closing date is when someone links to a design I like.
All entries should be emailed as a link through the contact button at www.woob.info with the title – Woob logo Comp.
DO NOT ATTACH ANY IMAGES! send a link to the design. (Flickr/Tumblr, whatever theres loads of free sites you can upload too) Include your name and make sure you mention the album you would like- 1194/Repurpose/Paradigm Flux.
Some advice. Dont use existing fonts without some serious alteration. Try and incorporate some sort of symbol or image, it need to be clear, easily identifiable and strictly no penguins!
If you are not a graphic designer you can still get a free album by getting this post featured on another blog or as a topic on a relevant forum. Comment the details below or contact me through www.woob.info
