Samsara

Below a new trailer for Samsara. Shot on 70mm over five years this truly epic looking film reunites filmmakers Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson the makers of Baraka – probably my most played VHS of the 90′s [via]

  1. Baraka was truly inspirational. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to Samsara.

  2. Nikos says:

Looking great! If you liked Baraka you should check an old documentary film by Lucky people center (thats my most played vhs : )

  3. There is no denying that Baraka was an incredible and influential piece of art cinema in 1992 but a lot of time has passed in between, and the format Ron Fricke evolved through his work on Godfrey Reggios Koyaanisquatsi then to his own Chronos prior to Baraka was once spellbinding and utterly innovative. But since then other filmmakers have taken this structural approach and pushed it way beyond what he initiated. I just hope Samsara will be infused with fresh meaning to unravel the complex human populated world around us. I do hope so as I want my mind to be stimulated as much as my eyeballs.
